<abstract>
This is a replacement document for the old Gentoo Handbook. The new Handbook is
architecture-specific (well, almost) and therefore the use of the handbook.xml
name is obsoleted.

<title>Ehh??? Where is it?</title>
<body>

<p>
The old Gentoo Handbook (the one with all the architectural instructions
in it) has been obsoleted in favor of the new, architecture-specific Gentoo
Handbook.
</p>

<p>
Note though that this architecture-specific aspect is not 100% valid
-- the new Handbook still refers to other architectures at some points. This is
because the Gentoo Handbook contains <e>lots</e> of information that is valid
for all architectures and we don't want to duplicate this information across all
versions (due to resource constraints, avoid duplication of efforts, etc.).
</p>

<p>
We will try to keep this to a minimum to avoid confusion.
